Monday, October 13 will begin a series of events to commemorate the first anniversary of the killing of 13 year old Andy Lopez by Sonoma Sheriff Deputy Erich Gelhaus on October 22, 2013. This series of events will begin with a Justice for Andy Lopez (JCAL) special presentation in front of the community task force that was created by the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors shortly after Andy's death and will end with an October 22 community potluck in his honor at the Memorial Park created after his killing. The public is invited to attend all of these events to honor Andy Lopez. (see schedule below)

Community gathering at the memorial site to share thoughts and feelings about Andy as we approach the 1 year anniversary of his death. Sat. Oct. 18th 10am-1:00pm Andy's Park Clean Up Day To prepare the site for the Oct. 22nd Anniversary event. October 20, 2014 6:00 PM Community and Local Law Enforcement Task Force Meeting The Full Task Force will be voting on supporting the Community Engagement and Healing Subcommittee's motion to send a letter to the Board of Supervisors asking Sheriff Freitas to reconsider his decision of putting Deputy Gelhaus back on the streets.
