The Peace & Justice Center is working for justice for Andy Lopez. Our particular focus is the creation of a Citizens' Review Board and a change in the militarized mindset of local law enforcement. On Tuesday, December 10th, Human Rights Day there are a number of ways for you to get involved!

Women in White ask for justice for Andy Lopez, invite the public to join them and make a moral statement to the Board of Supervisors, meeting,
1:30 p.m. at 575 Administration Dr., Santa Rosa.
Women in White is an action organized by Elaine Holtz at the Board of Supervisors. Any mothers, grandmothers, or any woman who wants to make a moral statement should join Elaine by dressing in white (or black) and going to the afternoon session. Also, Nicole Guerra will be presenting the petitions we have been collecting to support the creation of the Andy Lopez Memorial Park. PLEASE - spread the word of this action and encourage any women who might be interested. You can make your own statement or be there to support those who do.

4:00 p.m. Rally at City Hall at the start of the Santa Rosa City Council Meeting.
City Hall, 100 Santa Rosa Ave., Santa Rosa
We are hoping for a large turnout and some of us will speak at the Council meeting to criticize the Mayor's association of the Gang Task Force with Andy's murder. Andy was not a gang banger, but a good kid. Any false association is little less than racial stereotyping.

5:00 p.m. March from City Hall to Sheriff's Department
5:30 p.m. Rally at the Sheriff's Dept. at 2796 Ventura Blvd., Santa Rosa.
Andy's killer, Erik Gelhaus, has been returned to duty with the Sheriff's Dept. We intend to let them know how angry we are at this development. We are demanding an indictment, not a return to work! Justice for Andy!
