UC Berkeley Student Workers STRIKE against bad labor practices

In response to UC's unfair labor practices, including their intimidation of student workers on our own campus, we are striking on Wednesday, April 2 and Thursday, April 3! This strike was supported by a vast majority of the Joint Council of our union, the democratically elected body of UAW Local 2865 comprised of members from each campus. Below is a preliminary schedule for the strike days.  All are encouraged to join the pickets for as much time as possible.
**PICKET LINES LOCATED AT BANCROFT AND TELEGRAPH**
AFSCME (service workers), AFT (lecturers and librarian) and UPTE (clerical workers) will be bringing food throughout the day so come hang out at the pickets with your fellow campus workers!
Wednesday, April 2 Schedule:
* 8:00 to 10:00 – First Picket Line Shift! (Rhetoric, Film, Music, EECS, Latin American Studies)
* 10:00 to 12:00 – Second Picket Line Shift! (Comp. Lit, Classics, Education, French)
* 12:00 to 1:30 – MASS RALLY ON SPROUL
* 1:30 – AFSCME HOSTS LUNCH
* 1:30 to 3:30 – Third Picket Line Shift! (City planning, Public Health, Sociology, History)
* 3:30 to 5:30 – Fourth Picket Line Shift! (Political Science, Social Welfare, Anthropology)
Thursday, April 3 Schedule:
* 8:00 to 10:00 – First Picket Line Shift! (Art History, Social Welfare, City planning, Public Health)
* 10:00 to 12:00 – TEACH-INS on SPROUL
* 12:00 to 2:00 – Second Picket Line Shift! (Education, Sociology, Economics)
* 2:00 to 4:00 – TRAVELLING PICKET LINE STARTING AT BANCROFT AND TELEGRAPH (All departments come!)
* 4:00 to 6:00 – Third Picket Line Shift! (Latin American Studies, Film, Music)
